Jesus is questioned by the Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem over issues of ritual purity. Please note, that he does not reject the question or the issue. Jesus is a Pharisee and as such he puts a lot of emphasis on the Law. But the Pharisees are a lively bunch and enjoy heated discussions. Jesus is no different and engages in this passionate conversation.
