Today’s Reading is Psalm 27. This time for real.
Traditionally many Psalms are ascribed to King David. As is Hebrew custom I want to shake that concept up a little by looking at one single letter: ל (Lamed).
Most English Bible translations have a heading to them that sounds somewhat like “Of David”.
Yet לְדָוִד actually means “To David”.
Nobody would argue King James actually worked on a Bible Translation but he ordered it to be undertaken and then it was presented to him. How is David any different? The great King of your time gets all the honor. Whose bread I eat his song I sing – that’s the way life is.
